³⁸And ^(A)the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. ³⁹^(B)And when the centurion, who stood facing him, saw that in this way he^[a] breathed his last, he said, ^(C)“Truly this man was the Son^[b] of God!”

⁴⁰There were also ^(D)women looking on ^(E)from a distance, among whom were ^(F)Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the younger and of Joses, and ^(G)Salome.
